Celebrating the 10th anniversary, the Eva Duda Dance Company presented their new production at the 20th Budapest Dance Festival in March 2020. MIRROR is looking back to the most powerful moments of the first decade by creating a retrospective show with a group of young and energetic dancers.

MIRROR is one of the purest dance shows of the company, with highly skilled dancers who present the best of their skills and qualities. The stage is like an arena where everybody must win his role in the group. It is a dynamic sequence of intense choreographies, with a lot of acrobatic movements and fine partnering, having the mark of Eva’s unique style on each moment. Strong and agile figures are flowing across the space with huge energies, throwing themselves into the air, rolling on the floor in the next moment, always pushing themselves over their limits, creating an exalted atmosphere. After this rival dominance fight, the members of the thruster group find peace by supporting each other and ultimately enjoying each other. The feeling they evoke is dark and extreme, fulfilled with raw energies, dominance, erotic and power play.

Eva Duda’s early works are based on highly energetic and dynamic physicality. In MIRROR she turned back to this purely physical approach, evoked that extraordinary momentum she is known of, completed with ten years of experience, and with the remarkable dancers, it became the most characteristic show she has ever created.
